Abstract

Educational quality management is a set of procedures and strategies, which lead to quality control and guarantee, to ensure continuous improvement. The objective of this work is to reflect on the quality of education, with a focus on the Self-Evaluation Process of the Instituto Superior Tecnológico Almirante Illingworth. A qualitative, exploratory documentary investigation was carried out. Primary sources of research were used: current legal regulations, regulations of the accreditation and self-evaluation processes and the Institute's production. As part of the quality management process, and to analyze the requirements established in the External Evaluation Model 2024 for accreditation purposes for Higher, Technical and Technological Institutes, the AITEC prepared and approved the Institutional Self-evaluation Process Plan, built through analysis and discussion workshops. The quality indicators used are established in the model and compounds of 6 criteria: Organization, Infrastructure, Teachers, Teaching, Research and Development and innovation, and Link with society. The main result is the strengthening of the management and quality assurance process in the institute, based on the regulations of the external evaluation model, and considering the regulations of the Ecuadorian legislative framework.
